Privacy Statement

Lawyer’s Aid Service is committed to protecting your privacy. This statement of privacy applies to Lawyer’s Aid Service’s website and governs data collection and usage at all of our sites and services; it does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or services. Personal information of all users is collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Statement of Privacy. This privacy policy tells you how we use personal information, whether collected at this site, by phone, mail, or other means. Please read this policy before using the site or submitting any personal information. By using the site, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy.

Collection of your personal information

As an e-commerce website, Lawyer’s Aid Service collects personal information, such as: your email address, name, home or work address, or telephone number. For the purpose of billing you, we collect billing information such as your credit card number and billing address. For the purpose of assisting you to file, draft, or retrieve documents, we collect information pertaining to the specific document you order and to processing it, e.g., for an order to file a Change of Registered Agent or Office filing, we collect your company name, current and new registered agent and registered office, and name and title of signer of the filing.

Taxpayer ID number, Social Security number, and driver’s license number

Lawyer’s Aid Service is aware that certain data needs to be protected. You may order a document that requires you to state a taxpayer ID number (EIN), Social Security Number, or driver’s license number. When you authorize us to apply to the IRS, like for a tax ID, we only send the IRS the information that you authorize and that is needed for the IRS to approve the filing. We are barred from viewing or acting on anything more. Lawyer’s Aid Service has developed secure procedures for handling your data. For example, we train and require staff to delete your Social Security Number from our files when your order is complete.

For your own protection, it is recommended that you transmit sensitive data to us and others only through secure channels, such as Lawyer’s Aid Service website, mail, email attachment, or telephone, and not through less secure channels such as in the body of an email.

When you visit our website, we may collect, either directly or through third-party service providers, certain technical and navigational information, such as computer browser type, internet protocol address, pages visited, and average time spent on our website. This information may be used, for example, to alert you to software compatibility issues or to resolve technical or service problems, or it may be analyzed to improve our web design and functionality and our ability to serve you and your accounts.

Lawyer’s Aid Service encourages you to review the privacy statements of Web sites you choose to link to from Lawyer’s Aid Service so that you can understand how those Web sites collect, use, and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the Lawyer’s Aid Service Web site.

Use of your personal information

Lawyer’s Aid Service and its operational service partners collect and use your personal information to process product orders and deliver the products requested. We may also use personal information to inform you of other products or services available from Lawyer’s Aid Service and its affiliates. We may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

Lawyer’s Aid Service does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties. We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as handling the processing and delivery of mailings, processing transactions, or performing statistical analysis of our services. We will provide those companies only the personal information they need to deliver the service. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

Lawyer’s Aid Service may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Lawyer’s Aid Service, including its Web site; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Lawyer’s Aid Service or the public.

Personal information collected on this site may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Lawyer’s Aid Service or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country. Lawyer’s Aid Service abides by the safe harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union.

Please be advised that certain information you provide us becomes public record when filed with the state government, other government, or a court. This means that certain business information such as the name and legal address of the business, the registered agent name and address, and names and addresses of directors and/or managers, will become a matter of public record once filed with the applicable agency. (Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and federal taxpayer ID numbers in filings generally do not become public records and are generally available through limited, need-to-know procedures set by the agencies.) These agencies may offer your information to third parties for a fee. Our privacy policy does not cover actions by these agencies or third parties.

Control your personal information

You may also stop the delivery of future promotional email from Lawyer’s Aid Service by responding directly to any email you receive with a request to remove you from the mailing list.

Security of your personal information

Lawyer’s Aid Service is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access, that are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a credit card number) over the Internet, we use a secure payment gateway so your information is protected.

Changes to this statement

We will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. If there are material changes to this Statement or in how Lawyer’s Aid Service will use your personal information, we will prominently post such changes prior to implementing the change.
