Shipping

Standard mailing and shipping

Documents: Sent by first-class US mail usually the same or next business day after we receive them from the agency.

Products: (such as company outfits): Shipped by UPS Ground usually within 1-2 business days of your order. Ground shipping time is 1-2 days in Texas. Thus you usually receive your product within 2-4 business days. See UPS’s map showing delivery days here (in zip field, enter “78701”).

Rush service

Many filings, including company formations, are already carried out as a rush at no extra charge.
Company outfits can be processed as a rush; an additional fee will apply.
Any item can be shipped Fedex; an additional fee will apply.
Fedex Priority Overnight shipping is available, with “Next-day business delivery by 10:30 a.m. to most U.S. addresses; by noon, 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. in remote areas; by noon, 1:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays” (quoting Fedex website)
Other Fedex services are available with different turnaround times and costs.
Emailing of scanned documents or faxing them is available by request at no extra charge. Originals are then mailed.
Please call or email for a quote on rush service or international delivery.

Other shipping

We’ll gladly tell you your item’s UPS or FedEx tracking number upon request.
UPS or FedEx cannot ship to PO boxes.
Lawyer’s Aid Service is not responsible for any delays by the shipping services or US mail, such as holiday, seasonal, or weather delays.

Items damaged or missing in transit

If your item is damaged or missing in transit, please contact Lawyer’s Aid Service to arrange for a full or partial replacement at no expense to you. We typically respond within two business days. If the item is damaged, you may be required to obtain a return or replacement authorization from us and return the item in order to receive a replacement or refund. There are a few original filings that state agencies do not provide replacement originals for if lost or damaged in transit. In those rare cases, Lawyer’s Aid Service will attempt to obtain a functional replacement, at our cost. Lawyer’s Aid Service, Inc. is not responsible for an item or document that you send to us, if we determine that we never received it.

Out-of-stock (back-ordered) items

If your product is temporarily out of stock and will not reach you within the normal period, we’ll let you know by email, fax, or phone call, giving you the option to cancel your order.

Backlogs or delays by agencies

If a state agency is backlogged and your filing or retrieval will not reach you within the ‘normal period’ as indicated on other pages in our website, we’ll let you know by email, fax, or phone call, giving you the option to cancel your order. Lawyer’s Aid Service, Inc. is not responsible for the backlogs or delays of governmental agencies.

Returns and refunds

Our goal is to provide you with excellent service and products. If you ever feel less than 100% satisfied, please contact us and give us the chance to resolve the issue to your complete satisfaction.

Return or refund a service

Services involving retrieval or filing of governmental agency documents generally cannot be refunded or returned after the order is placed with the governmental agency since governmental agencies generally do not allow refunds or returns. We will do our best to obtain any refund we can for you from the agency. However, if an error were to be made by Lawyer’s Aid Service, Inc. in filing or retrieving a document, such as mistyping a company name, we will correct the matter at our expense. We are experienced at helping our clients correct their filings and retrievals and will gladly help with that type of project.

Refund of professional registered agent services

Registered agent service can be canceled for a full refund up until the registered agent information is filed with the state. After that, you may cancel the service and receive a prorated refund, by:

giving us written notice, and
filing a change of registered agent with the Secretary of State (a service we can help you with).

Lawyer’s Aid Service, Inc. provides a refund prorated to the service end date after you complete these steps because until then we are still serving as your registered agent or winding down your account. The service end date is the last day of the month you give us notice and file to change the registered agent.

Return or refund of a product

If you are not thoroughly satisfied with your Company Outfit or a component of an outfit, Lawyer’s Aid Service, Inc. will replace it at no charge or send you a full refund. To arrange, please call (888) 474-2112 or email maindesk@LawyersAidService.com. In some cases, you may need to send the product to us before receiving a refund or replacement.

Cancellations

Many orders can be canceled if you telephone to cancel early enough in the process. Likewise, an order can be placed on hold, awaiting your go-ahead. Cancelling by fax or email is possible but is less likely to reach us in time.

State agency filings

Can be canceled up until the order is turned in for filing at the agency, which can be as soon as 30 minutes after placing the order. No cancellation fee is charged.

State agency retrievals

Can be canceled up until the order is retrieved or carried out by our employees, which can be as soon as 30 minutes after placing the order. No cancellation fee is charged. On some retrieval orders, you may set a budget limit.

Company outfits and components

Can be canceled up until the item is shipped or picked up by the client. No cancellation fee is charged.

Federal taxpayer IDs (EINs)

Can be canceled up until the taxpayer ID number is obtained. No cancellation fee is charged.
